Cafe Racer Harley Davidson XLCR1000 Café Racer - c.1978 This is the rarest post-war Harley made with approximately 3700 units being produced. After taking this project over from another motorcycle shop that had come to an impass on the project, Vintage Motorcycles completely rebuilt and customized this bike over a 5 month timespan. Many custom parts had to be fabricated, since they were no longer available. Nothing was done to the bike that could not be reversed for a true restoration. Except for frame, wheels, and engine cases, everything was new, including wiring harnesses, brakes, gauges, bodywork, and all chrome fasteners. This bike won the "Best Sportster" at the Hog Wild motorcycle show in Boulder County in October 2003.
Hannah Lynn BMW R69S - c 1963 w/ Steib S350 sidecar - c. 1953. This bike was purchased off of the Internet. The bike was more mechanically and cosmetically challenged than as represented. The sidecar had a windshield, but it was not installed and was missing brackets. Vintage Motorcycles rebuilt the carburetors and front end. When first purchased, the padding, backrest, and the armrests in the sidecar did not allow for a human being to fit, let alone sit comfortably. In order for the windshield brackets to fit, the armrests had to be modified and corrected. The sidecar was out of alignment, and it was a challenge to get the proper configuration with the bike. Vintage Motorcycles Craftsmen hand pinstriped and lettered the owners' daughter's name on the sidecar, as well as, reconfigured the backrest, including all padding and upholstery in the sidecar.
Norton Norton Mark III 850 Commando- c 1975 Completely restored. Bodywork was repaired and the required paint work was done. Pea-shooter mufflers were added for an easy restoration of a complete motorcycle. No engine rebuilding was required; only a tuneup and carburetor rebuild were necessary.
Moto Guzzi Moto Guzzi 850 El Dorado - c. 1973 This "Old School" beauty was customized with an Indian solo seat, custom paint, floorboards, lowered suspension, a transistorized regulator, a revamped electrical system, narrowed sidecovers, and a custom tail light. It won "Best of Show" at the 2003 AutoMezzi in Colorado.
Benelli Benelli 750 Sei - c 1977 This bike was brought to Vintage Motorcycles in many parts in a collection of boxes that had simultaneously been serving as a mouse habitat. Once the parts were sorted and cleaned, it was determined what connections and parts were missing in order to reconstruct the bike to it's original state. No bodywork or painting was done, but a full mechanical and electrical re-assembly from the ground up was required. Many hours of attention to detail restored this bike to the original beauty of it's era.
